Jack & the Beanstalk, Glowstick Bucket Drumming, Summer Recital Successes

We've had a wonderful summer around the studios and in the park. Here are some of our best moments.

Jack & the Beanstalk x2 -- So popular we had to run it twice!

The waitlist was long enough for Jack & The Beanstalk, so we decided to give more students the opportunity to participate by running the whole workshop again in July/August.

Our summer musical program takes place each summer for a short but fun three weeks, normally only in June. We hold rehearsals Monday-Friday where we put the whole show together, for friends and family to watch and enjoy at the end. Our second Summer Musical Workshop ran in August. These actors were incredible! You can watch both of these performances on our YouTube channel.

Glowstick Bucket Drumming

Glowstick Bucket Drumming was a hit!

This year, the Glowstick Bucket Drumming Showcase was held at Waterman (Triangle) Park in downtown Oregon. The beginner and advanced classes performed multiple well-known songs on glowing buckets.

The show can be seen on our YouTube channel.

Our Pianos Got Tuned

As you may know, Ms. Ally is also a piano technician. She tunes all our pianos regularly, ensuring they're in the best shape for everyone here. The seasons change rapidly here in Wisconsin, so it's important that instruments are properly serviced frequently. Thanks, Ms. Ally!

She's who we recommend for any of your piano needs. Did you know: All piano students get one included tuning of their home piano each semester!

Summer Recital

The 2024 Summer Recital was inspiring! Our students showcased their musical skills through a mix of performances. Students chose Disney classics, thrilling Star Wars themes, and beautiful classical pieces that highlighted their passion for music, and their hard work this summer. The 2024 Summer Recital video is on our YouTube channel.

Two New Teachers Starting This Fall

Ms. Caroline (violin and viola)

Ms. Caroline

Caroline began playing violin at the age of 5 with Shauncey Ali and currently studies with Eugene Purdue of UW-Madison. In addition to private lessons, Caroline has been a member of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras for 5 years. She has participated in WSMA Solo and Ensemble 5 times. Caroline attends Oregon High School and has played violin in the OHS pit orchestra for the past 2 years. She has attended UW-Madison’s Summer Music Clinic twice. In March 2024, she won her school’s concerto competition. When not playing violin, Caroline enjoys making art, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Caroline has three openings left for the 2024-2025 session! You can view them on our enrollment page.

Mr. Jacob (cello)

Mr. Jacob

Jacob received his undergraduate education at the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music and received his Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in December, 2021. Jacob’s experience with the Feldenkrais Method of somatic education allows him to teach with a unique, whole-body perspective. Jacob’s teaching philosophy involves getting to know a student’s personality and learning style, and adjusting his teaching style to match. This means the same concepts may be taught in varying ways, depending on the student. Curiosity and tangential thinking are hallmarks of Jacob’s teaching style: he has been known to incorporate elements of dancing, singing, sports, and science into cello lessons.

Mr. Jacob has a few openings left for the 2024-2025 session! You can view them on our enrollment page.

We'll see you soon for the first week of our school year session! Lessons start on Monday, September 9, 2024.
